| Generative AI | AI that creates new content: text, images, audio, video, code. |
| LLM (Large Language Model) | The kind of AI behind chat assistants, trained on huge amounts of text. |
| Chatbot / Assistant | An app you talk to in plain language, e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok. |
| Prompt | What you type (or say) to the AI. |
| Context window | How much text the AI can 'keep in mind' in one conversation. |
| Hallucination | When AI states something false or invented as if it were true. |
| Training data | The text and media an AI learned from. |
| Model | A specific version of an AI system (e.g. a 'fast' vs. 'advanced' model). |
| Multimodal | Able to handle more than text: images, audio, files, video. |
| Agent | AI that can take multi-step actions, like browsing or filling forms, for you. |
| Deepfake | AI-generated fake video, image or audio of a real person. |
| Custom instructions | Saved preferences that shape every answer the assistant gives you. |
| Token | A chunk of text (roughly ¾ of a word) that AI models count and process. |
